RSS是一種XML格式，提供網站最近更新頁面中的資訊

發佈資訊:
- 內容提供者提供RSS，增加使用者更廣泛的閱讀管道。 via 大學報

1. 使用者可以透過軟體或網站服務訂閱更新資訊

RSS的全名有具意網站摘要(Rich Site Summary) 或聚合新聞服務(Really Simple Syndication)...等的全名。詳見Wikipedia entry on RSS

RSS 閱讀器

而RSS 閱讀器（RSS Feed Reader, RSS News Aggregator, RSS 種仔閱讀器）則是 Rss feed 的訂閱與整理，可以直接在閱讀器上看到不同（有支援RSS功能的）blog或支援RSS網站的最新文章摘要，透過RSS 閱讀軟體，就可以同時閱讀多個網站最新的文章摘要。例如Mozilla Firefox瀏覽器，則以即時書籤(live bookmarks)形式來訂閱與顯示RSS。
