[http://desktop.google.com/index.html Google Desktop Search] 的Plug-in: [http://desktop.google.com/plugins/gmail.html Larry's Gmail Indexer]，若將該帳號純粹訂閱[http://www.google.com/alerts Google Alert]或maillist，則可以在GDS 搜尋的Email那項產生類似新知的典藏效果。不過啟用Gmail帳號POP3後，試用時一直出現該Plugin[http://groups-beta.google.com/group/Google-Desktop-Plugin-Larrys-Gmail/browse_thread/thread/35ffc8f7ea6511c5/3cb873215ea481a6?lnk=raot#3cb873215ea481a6 無法登入取信]進而建立索引的狀態。
